Douglas DC-3 Liberty
A simple name for a popular WWII veteran DC-3 that was in the Air Transport Command and has wartime provenance. Liberty was deployed to North Africa for troop transport.
The DC-3 is the icon of passenger travel in the U.S. from the late 1930s into the 1950s, and well beyond for private use and in other areas of the world. It was configured in multiple ways during WWII, and carried the military designation of C-47.
