The Nanchang CJ-6 (often called the CJ-6A in Western hands), is a rugged Chinese tandem two-seat basic trainer originally built for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force and now popular among civilian warbird enthusiasts for its aerobatic performance. The sturdy low-wing aircraft offers excellent maneuverability, a strong airframe, and that classic radial-engine sound that makes it a favorite at airshows.
